No confidence
in the vote
To the Editor:
I am dismayed by what is taking place at
the highest levels of the Bucks County Board of Elections. First, we see a polling place relocated for reasons
that are now under investigation. Second, we read in a recent Intelligencer article that a server at someone's
home was used to transmit voting data during the last election. How can the electorate be certain that voting data
was not compromised?
I ran for Doylestown
Township supervisor last year and lost by just 20 votes out of more than 8,000 votes cast. Based on
what I read about the pressure placed on the director of the Board of Elections, I personally have zero confidence
that the current voting machines captured and reported the correct vote count. And our commissioners just do not seem
to care.
When will the partisan bickering and the
nonsense stop? Voting integrity is a cornerstone of our democracy. We must have confidence restored to our
election processes.
