To leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives for ignoring
a bill introduced by Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick that would delay the deadline for new voting machines.
Already
stymied by the slow state and federal certification process for the new machines, local leaders were hoping Fitzpatrick's
bill would allow for a little wiggle room. But apparently that's not going to happen. According to Jon Brandt, communications
director for the House Administration Committee, "We really don't have any plans in taking that bill up anytime soon."
And the situation isn't getting any clearer since a Commonwealth Court judge
ruled that Westmoreland County erred
in buying electronic voting machines without getting the voters' permission. So much for the government caring about the integrity
of our vote.
